Ajay Ravi, M.D.
Dr. Ravi joined Gainesville Radiology Group in July 2014. A first-generation immigrant and a proud naturalized citizen of the United States, he grew up in South India and in Algeria, North Africa. He graduated with a medical degree from Armed Forces Medical College in 2003 and immigrated to the United States in 2004. He did his Internal Medicine Internship at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA and finished his diagnostic radiology residency at LSU, where he was the chief resident. Following his residency training, he did a Body Imaging fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and Vascular and Interventional radiology fellowship at the University of Texas in Galveston, TX. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and he holds the Subspecialty Certificate (CAQ) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from the American Board of Radiology. He is certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Dr. Ravi performs all types of Interventional Radiology procedures but has a special interest in thermal ablation with microwave technology, a new, minimally invasive procedure for patients with small primary or metastatic tumors in the liver, kidney and lung. He also has special interest in MR prostate imaging.
